So far, there have been four versions of the SAIC-GM-Wuling’s mid-size SUV - Baojun 530, Chevrolet Captiva, MG Hector, and Wuling Almaz.

Speaking on the motor show debut of the 2019 Chevrolet Captiva, Ms Piyanuch Chaturaphat, Sales & Marketing General Director of Chevrolet Sales Thailand has said -

The All-New Captiva is positioned to overlap the fast-growing SUV-B and SUV-C segments. Captiva will be especially attractive for customers looking to get into their first SUV; offering expressive style, life-sized space and smart technology, all wrapped in a smart-value package.

The Chevrolet Captiva will be sold in both five-seat and seven-seat configurations. The company has revealed that the new model will draw power from a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine. While full specifications are yet to be disclosed, it's believed that the turbo-petrol mill would offer a maximum power of 147 hp and a peak torque of 230 Nm. The motor will come mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission.

While the MG Hector features a bold chrome-infused wire mesh upper grille, the 2019 Chevrolet Captiva features a simpler-looking unit that has three black horizontal and a centrally-placed bowtie. The rear of the new model has an uncanny resemblance with the Audi Q5 and features similar wrap-around tail lamps and tailgate. The company has even displayed a motor show-special unit, which features a dual-tone paint scheme and black-painted Vossen mag rims.
