The 2019 Mahindra TUV300 has started reaching dealerships. Spy shots have revealed the exterior and interior of the refreshed model.
Launched in September 2015, the Mahindra TUV300 is the only modern ladder-frame SUV in its segment, although not the most successful one of the lot. For MY2019, it has received a facelift that brings subtle visual changes.
The front-end of the sub-compact SUV has been tweaked with a new radiator grille, a new lower grille and smoked headlamps. The sides have remained the same, and even the alloy wheels have been carried over from the outgoing model. At the rear, the new model features clear-lens tail lamps, which are in the same shape as those of the old model. The interior design has remained unchanged.
Mahindra will offer the new TUV300 in the existing T4+, T6+, T8 and T10 grades and a new grade, which it will likely call ‘T10 (O)’. It will expand the standard safety pack to include high-speed warning alert and likely co-driver SBR too. Rear parking sensors, not included in the T4+ and T6+ grades of the old model, will be standard in the new model.
Moving to the specifications, the 1.5-litre mHawk100 turbocharged three-cylinder diesel engine will continue in the TUV300 post facelift. This engine produces 100 BHP at 3,750 rpm and 240 Nm of torque at 1,600-2,800 rpm. Mahindra will discontinue the problematic 5-speed automated manual transmission made by Ricardo. All the configurations will have a 5-speed manual transmission only.
