The Mercedes GLC has gained a 48-volt mild-hybrid system with the facelift.

The 2019 Mercedes GLC features revised bumpers, reshaped, 84-LED Multibeam headlamps, newly designed wheels (17-20 inches) and tweaked LED rear lights. Inside, the updated model packs the three-pointed star’s all-new 10.3-inch MBUX infotainment system that debuted in the all-new Mercedes A-Class last year. There’s also a new 12.3-inch virtual instrument cluster option. An upgraded touchpad has replaced the rotary controller between the seats.

Moving to engine options, the maximum power of the 2.0-litre petrol unit of the GLC 200 4MATIC has gone from 135 kW (184 PS) to 147 kW (200 PS). The 2.0-litre petrol engine powering the GLC 250 4MATIC and the GLC 300 4MATIC has gained a 48-volt mild-hybrid system that assists it with an additional 10 kW (14 PS). The maximum power of this engine has increased from 180 kW (245 PS) to 190 kW (258 PS) in the latter, but in the former, it has dropped from 155 kW (211 PS) to 145 kW (197 PS).

In the diesel portfolio, Mercedes-Benz will add the GLC 400 d 4MATIC model employing a 2.9-litre six-cylinder engine. The entire GLC range, except the F-Cell variant, has switched from 7-speed automatic transmission to a 9-speed automatic transmission.
