A fresh spy shot of the 2019 Mitsubishi Triton revealing its LED tail lights has surfaced online, courtesy Facebook page New Triton Club.

The Mitsubishi Triton has received new tail lamps with teardrop-style LED light guide reminiscent of the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport.

The Mitsubishi Triton’s rear-end won’t change as extensively as its front with the mid-cycle update. The alterations will include new tail lamps with a LED light guide and a new bumper. On the sides, in addition to squarish fenders in place of round fenders, expect bigger, 18-inch alloy wheels.

At the front, Mitsubishi’s one-tonne pickup truck will flaunt bold design elements with the signature “Dynamic Shield” concept for more sophisticated and athletic styling. An official teaser has shown a more substantial radiator grille and narrower headlamps in a new angular design, with chrome streaks flowing into the new muscular bumper.

There’s no word on the interior and mechanical changes due with the facelift. The current Mitsubishi Triton is available with features like multifunction steering wheel, paddle shifters, dual-zone automatic climate control, cruise control, touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and more. The touchscreen infotainment system could gain GPS navigation with the mid-life update.

132 PS 4G64 2.4-litre petrol, 110 PS/128 PS/136 PS/178 PS 4D56 2.5-litre diesel and 181 PS 4N15 2.4-litre diesel are the outgoing model’s engine options. Power goes to the rear wheels via a 5-speed manual transmission, a 6-speed manual transmission or a 5-speed automatic transmission. Easy Select 4WD and Super Select 4WD-II are the optional 4x4 systems.

The new Mitsubishi Triton will sport a fresh front-end, designed using the Dynamic Shield concept.
