Ducati also promises improved performance on the 2020 range. The Panigale V4 and the Panigale V4 S continue to use the 1,103 cc Desmosedici Stradale, MotoGP-derived 90° V4 engine with Desmodromic timing, counter-rotating crankshaft and Twin Pulse firing order. The numbers aren’t different from the Euro-IV model, and the motorcycles continue to deliver 214 hp of peak power at 13,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 123.5 Nm at 10,000 rpm.
The Panigale V4, as mentioned above, is now equipped with the aerodynamic package that was first seen on the V4 R. The package aims to provide enhanced airflow protection and improve overall vehicle stability.
In terms of safety, the latest-generation electronics package works with a 6-axis inertial platform. The safety net comprises Ducati Traction Control (DTC) EVO 2, ABS Cornering EVO, Ducati Slide Control (DSC), Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC) EVO, Ducati Quick Shift up/down (DQS) EVO 2, Engine Brake Control (EBC) EVO and Ducati Power Launch (DPL). The MY2020 range features a specially-developed Ride by Wire system mappings with several torque delivery control logics.
Ducati has also worked on the suspension setup and focused on redefining suspension stiffness, the centre of gravity height and the chain force angle. The more premium S version continues to benefits from electronically adjustable Öhlins NIX-30 front forks, Öhlins TTX 36 rear shock – both with new calibration – and a steering damper, all of which are controlled by Öhlins Smart EC 2.0 system. The V4 S also features Marchesini forged aluminium wheels in total black and a Lithium-ion battery.
The standard motorcycle, on the other hand, uses 43 mm Showa Big Piston Fork (BPF) at the front and Sachs rear shock – both fully adjustable (manually). The standard bike also gets a Sachs steering damper. The braking system on both variants includes Brembo Stylema monobloc callipers. Both models are also ready for Ducati Lap Timer GPS (DLT GPS), Ducati Data Analyser+ GPS (DDA+ GPS) and Ducati Multimedia System (DMS).
