The Stile was launched in October 2013.
Ashok Leyland has pulled the plug on the Stile MPV, what is otherwise a rebadged Nissan Evalia. Ashok Leyland's managing director, Vinod K. Dasari, told the IANS that production of the Stile had come to a stop owing to poor demand.
The Stile was announced to enter the market in July 2013, in an event that saw Carlos Ghosn, CEO of the Renault-Nissan alliance and G.P. Hinduja Chairman of the Hinduja Group announce the joint venture between Nissan and Ashok Leyland. In October that year, the Stile was launched with prices starting at INR 7.49 lakhs, ex-Showroom, Mumbai.
The Stile was intended to target fleet operators, shuttle operators and in general, the commercial side of the people-mover segment, whereas the Nissan Evalia would aim for the private car buyer. In lieu of this, Ashok Leyland detuned the 1.5-liter K9K diesel engine on the Stile for better fuel economy.
In comparison to the Evalia sold in 2013, the Stile also came with additional comfort features like sliding rear windows, dual-blower AC and optional Captains chairs.

While Ashok Leyland have discontinued the product, the Evalia continues to be sold by Nissan despite accounting for average monthly volumes of 21 units (calculated over the past 6 monhts).
