Third installment on the Prologue series of concept cars which directs the future design of the brand.
Audi has revealed the third member of its Prologue concept series, the Prologue allroad, ahead of its debut at the Auto Shanghai 2015 which opens its doors to the media on April 20, 2015.
Inspired by the Prologue and Prologue avant concepts, the body of the allroad is 77 mm higher than the latter. And at 5.13 meters in length, the allroad is a shade longer than the Avant as well (5.11 meters), and sits on 22-inch wheels with a five-arm design.
Powering the Prologue allroad is a 4.0-liter TFSI twin-turbocharged V8 engine, assisted by an electric motor which is housed in the 8-speed tiptronic transmission. Combined, the powertrain produces 734 hp and 900 Nm of torque, which is sent to all wheels via Audi's Quattro technology.
Audi claims the Prologue allroad can hit 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds, yet sip fuel at a frugal rate of 41.66 km/l. The 14.1 kWh lithium-ion battery mounted in the rear of the car gives the Prologue allroad an all-electric range of 54 km.
