After getting spied on several occasions, the new 2019 BMW X1 has been finally unveiled. Here’s our detailed comparison between the 2019 BMW X1 and its predecessor.

2019 BMW X1's new full LED headlights get more detailing, are larger and a bit more swept back. Also, it gets a newly designed kidney grille, which is a single piece.

The BMW X1 has always been a good looking compact SUV and now with the latest facelift, the SUV promises to deliver more modern and sharper looks. Its revised front fascia, which follows BMW's latest design trend, is now heavily chromed and packs a newly designed kidney grille that is a single-piece unit. Its full LED headlights get more detailing, are larger and a bit sleeker than those of the previous version. The new aggressive looks are further complemented by the fully redesigned bumper, which packs quite complex dark inserts with slim LED horizontal fog lamps, replacing the earlier round fog lamp design.

The side profile somehow remains noticeably untouched. The subtle changes, however, are brought in the form of newly designed alloy wheels which come in different colour combinations and are available in 17 inches to 19 inches size. At the rear, the car features new tail lamps which have clearly taken design inspiration from bigger X family SUVs. Also, the width of the tailpipes has been increased from 70mm to 90mm, which certainly gives a bolder impression. BMW has also introduced three new exterior colours for the X1: Jucaro Beige, Missano Blue and Storm Bay.

On the inside, the cabin has been slightly tweaked with new contrast stitching on the instrument panel (available for xLine, Sport Line and M Sport variants),  three new upholstery options and optional LED illumination lighting package with six different colour tones. Also, a highlight of the 2019 X1 is the new optional 10.25-inch Touch Control Display and the sixth generation of the iDrive operating system that works with iDrive Controller and optional voice control. The instrument cluster, however, has been carried over from the previous model but now carries modern black-panel technology which is standard across all the models. It features a 2.7-inch TFT Info Display in base trim or a 5.7-inch TFT Info Display if a navigation system has been specified. There is also an optionally available full-colour Head-up Display on the 2019 BMW X1.
