Now on sale in Europe.

First showcased at the 2016 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, the BMW M2 Coupe had its Asian premiere at Auto China 2016 (2016 Beijing Motor Show) held last month. The BMW 1 Series M Coupe successor is built alongside the BMW 1 Series (5-door), BMW 2 Series Coupe, BMW 2 Series Convertible and BMW 2 Series Active Tourer at the BMW Leipzig Plant in Germany, and now on sale in Europe.

The BMW M2 Coupe measures 4,468 mm in length, 1,854 mm in width and 1,410 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,693 mm. The high-performance variant's M-specific exterior has styling cues borrowed from BMW's previous performance icons like the BMW 2002 turbo and BMW 3.0 CSL. Highlights include kidney grille with black-painted double bars, large front apron with trapezoidal blades, 19-inch BMW M double-spoke aluminium forged rims, M rear spoiler, rear apron-integrated diffuser and BMW M quad-exhaust tailpipes in high-gloss chrome.

Inside, the BMW M2 is equipped with sports seats in black Dakota leather with blue contrast stitching and an M logo on the backrests; adjustable side bolsters for the front seats; M footrest and knee pad on the centre console; BMW M2-specific instrument panel; M logos on the rev counter, gearshift lever, door sill plates and M leather steering wheel; and M2 trim strip with surfacing in porous carbon fibre.

The BMW M2 sports a 3.0-litre BMW M TwinPower Turbo twin-turbocharged inline six-cylinder petrol engine that offers 272 kW (370 hp) at 6,500 rpm and 465 Nm (343 lb.-ft.) from just 1,400 rpm all the way up to 5,560 rpm. 6-speed manual transmission is standard, but the M Double Clutch Transmission (M DCT) can be had optionally. 0-100 km/h is clocked in an impressive 4.3 seconds, but the top speed, as expected, is electronically limited to 250 km/h.
