BMW has unveiled the BMW M4 coupe at the ongoing 2014 Goodwood Festival of Speed. BMW India has planned to display this car at customer experience programs this year to gather feedback before eventually launching it in the country.
The M4 Coupe had made its debut earlier this year at the NAIAS 2014. The 2-door coupe comes with a 3.0-liter 6-cylinder engine that gets BMW M TwinPower Turbo technology with two mono-scroll turbochargers, High Precision Direct Petrol Injection, fully variable valve timing (VALVETRONIC) and variable camshaft control (Double-VANOS).
The engine develops 431 hp between 5,500 and 7,300 rpm and peak torque of 550 Nm between 1,850 and 5,500 rpm. The coupe comes standard with a 6-speed manual gearbox and a 7-speed dual clutch transmission is optional.
Standard features includes brake energy regeneration, EPS, start/stop function, gear shift indicator (on 6-speed manual gearbox and 7-speed Double Clutch Transmission in manual mode) and a map-controlled oil pump.
In terms of safety, airbags for driver and front passenger, side airbags for driver and front passenger, head airbags front and rear, three-point inertia-reel seatbelts on all seats are fitted, apart from DSC, ABS, M Dynamic Mode, Cornering Brake Control, Dynamic Brake Control, Active M Differential and Dry Braking Control.
