Maruti Suzuki has upgraded the Eeco to conform to the crash test norms set under BNSVAP that became effective at the start of this month. The BNSVAP-compliant Eeco’s prices range from INR 3,61,825* to INR 6,61,533*. In comparison, the old Eeco was priced from INR 3,55,205* to INR 6,54,914*.
To push the sales of the Eeco during the festive season, Maruti Suzuki has introduced attractive offers. The company is offering consumer offer of up to INR 15,000 (5 seater)/INR 25,000 (7 seater), an exchange offer of up to INR 20,000 (both 5 seater and 7 seater) and corporate offer of up to INR 5,000 (both 5 seater and 7 seater). This leads to a total savings of up to INR 40,000 (5 seater)/INR 50,000 (7 seater).
The Maruti Eeco is available with the G12B 1.2-litre naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine in petrol and petrol-CNG versions. The petrol version produces 54 kW (73.42 PS) at 6,000 rpm and 101 Nm of torque at 3,000 rpm. The petrol-CNG version’s ratings are the same when running on petrol. On switching to CNG, the maximum power and the maximum torque reduce to 46 kW (62.54 PS) and 85 Nm respectively.
The petrol engine variant of the Maruti Eeco has a fuel economy rating of 15.37 km/l. The petrol-CNG variant returns a fuel economy of 21.94 km/kg (in CNG mode). By March 2020, Maruti Suzuki will roll out a BS-VI upgrade for the Eeco.
