Along with a chrome-plated Borgward BX5, Borgward displayed a matte black Borgward BX7 at the 2017 Dubai Motor Show. In addition to a matte black body paint, the display model featured black alloy wheels and red brake callipers.
The Borgward BX7 is Borgward’s first post-resurrection model, which debuted at IAA 2015. The mid-size SUV is 4,715 mm long, 1,911 mm wide and 1,690 mm tall. It has a 2,760 mm wheelbase. It is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine that produces 224 hp and 300 Nm of torque. A 6-speed automatic transmission is standard, while an all-wheel-drive system is optional.
On the outside, the Borgward BX7 features Xenon headlights with LED DRLs, Octagon radiator grille, panoramic sunroof, power folding and adjustable side mirrors with heating and memory functions, 18-inch alloy wheels, LED tail lights and roof spoiler. Tartan leather seat upholstery, 8-way power driver’s seat with 4-way lumbar adjustment driver’s seat with heating and massage functions, front passenger seat with heating and massage functions, heated second-row seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system and 10-speaker JVC sound system are the interior highlights.
Borgward expects to price the Borgward BX7 in the UAE from AED 85,000 (INR 14,97,491.80). The company will sell the mid-size SUV in the 5- and 7-seat versions, but not the 6-seat version.
