General Motors has dedicated a variant of the Spark (Beat) to the women in Europe called "Pink Lady.” The car is painted in metallic pink and has bubble-shaped stickers in the forward part of the car.
Mirrors are also in pink and car is gifted with side skirts and 15-inch alloy wheels. General Motors has been careful not to add even a whiff of aggression!
The Pink Lady variant has the top safety features such as 6 airbags along with ABS and traction control. Comfort and convenience features are not up there with the best as the car gets a manual AC and basic stereo. Steering-mounted controls and Aux/USB jacks come as consolation.
There are two versions of the Chevrolet Spark Pink Lady - the first variant runs on a gasoline-burning four cylinder petrol engine while the second a LPG variant with CO2 emissions of just 110g/km.
The Spark Pink Lady is priced from 11,690 euros (8.20 lakhs) to 13,200 euros (9.26 lakhs).
It is surprising why General Motors India has not launched a single special edition model on the Beat since the launch in January 2010. The upgrades or additions have strictly been mechanical.
