The Daihatsu Sigra and Toyota Calya will be marketed as low-cost MPVs and rival the Datsun GO+.

The relationship between the Toyota Calya and Daihatsu Sigra will be similar to that of the Toyota Avanza and Daihatsu Xenia, two of the most popular MPVs in Indonesia. Both the Calya and Sigra will be positioned under the Avanza and Xenia, will be marketed as low-cost MPVs, and rival the Datsun GO+.

The Daihatsu Sigra is based on the Daihatsu Ayla (Toyota Agya) hatchback, and the exterior styling will draw influence from the Daihatsu UFC-3 Concept. Under the hood, reports suggest that the Sigra/Calya will be powered by the Toyota Etios’s 1.2-liter petrol engine, and transmission choices would include manual and automatic gearboxes.

It should also be manufactured in Indonesia with a high degree of localization.
