To be launched in Q1 2015.
The Datsun Go+ budget MPV has been spotted in Pune with white sheets of disguise by an Auto Column reader. The compact 7-seater is almost ready for its launch and Indian Autos Blog would be able to present a comprehensive image gallery of the India-spec car shortly from the media drive.
Underpinned by the same V Platform as the Go, the Go+ mini MPV measures 3,995 mm in length so as to be eligible for the 8% excise duty concession (instead of 12%) by the Indian government which would lead to a competitive price tag.
On the outside, the Go+ is nothing but a stretched Go and the same applies when it comes to the interior. The dashboard has been carried forward, so expect the fully loaded variant to offer mobile docking station, front power windows, power steering and follow-me-home headlights.
Power would come from the 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine that is derived from the Nissan Micra. Under the hood of the Go, the motor produces 68 bhp and 104 Nm of torque, and comes paired to a 5-speed manual transmission, sending power to the front wheels.
