Will be the company's ultimate performance car.
Dodge is set to introduce a hotter variant of the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat at the 2017 New York International Auto Show in March - the 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon. Months ahead of the ultimate Dodge Challenger's debut, the company has released a teaser video and some details of the car.
The teaser video highlights a particular characteristic of the 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon - it's lightness. The SRT Demon variant will be more than 200 pounds (91.72 kg) lighter than the SRT Hellcat variant which tips scales at 4,439 pounds (2,018 kg). It also hints at various tweaks to the wheels, steering, suspension, brakes, interior construction and components.
The 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon will be powered by the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat's 6.2-liter supercharged V8 gasoline engine. In the latter, HEMI SRT V8 engine develops 707 hp and 650 lb.-ft. of torque and sends power to the rear wheels via the 8-speed TorqueFlite automatic transmission.

Recently surfaced spy shots and leaked images have revealed that the 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon gets Nitto drag radials, possibly Nitto NT05R, a wide hood vent and Demon decal on the front fenders. Interior spy shot reveals the availability of an automatic transmission, most likely an 8-speed unit. With Dodge boasting significant weight reduction measures, availability of an all-wheel drive system is highly unlikely.
