Benelli Tornado 302 to launch in India in April - Report
The Benelli Tornado 302 was first showcased at EICMA 2015.
The DSK Group is planning to launch the Benelli Tornado 302 in India in April, reports Overdrive. Competing against the likes of the Yamaha R3 and Kawasaki Ninja 300, the Benelli Tornado 302 was showcased in India at the Auto Expo 2016.
Powering the Benelli Tornado 302 is 300 cc in-line twin cylinder, liquid cooled DOHC mill which is coupled to a 6-speed gearbox. The engine is capable of producing 38 PS of maximum power at 12,000 rpm and 27.4 Nm of peak torque at 9,000 rpm. The bike traces its origins to the Benelli TNT 300 but gets a pretty new chassis.
The Benelli Tornado 302 gets 41 mm upside down forks up front and a monoshock in the rear. Brakes include 260 mm dual disc in the front with four piston calliper and a 240 mm single disc in the rear with a single piston calliper. ABS though may be offered only as an option.

Globally, the engine is Euro4 compliant and tips the scales at 190 kg which is 6 kg lighter than the BSIII compliant TNT300 sold in India. Apart from this Benelli is also planning to launch the TRK 502, BX 250 Motard and TNR 135.
The DSK Benelli Tornado 302 is expected to be priced around INR 3.2 lakhs (ex-showroom).
