Like its predecessor, the Diavel 1260 will be available in two variants – standard and S. The S version packs premium features and hardware that includes fully adjustable Öhlins suspensions at both ends, Brembo M50 callipers (standard model gets Brembo M4.32 callipers), Ducati Quick Shift up & down Evo (DQS) and Ducati Multimedia System that works with Ducati Link App. The DQS system can be added to the standard model as an accessory.
In terms of engine specification, both variants use the same 1,262 cc Ducati Testastretta DVT, L-twin cylinder, 8-valves, liquid-cooled engine with Ducati’s Desmodromic Variable Timing. Linked to a six-speed gearbox, the motor churns out 159 hp of peak power at 9,500 rpm and 129 Nm of max torque at 7,500 rpm. The power can be used in three riding modes – Sport, Touring and Urban.
Ducati has upgraded the Diavel 1260’s chassis for better response and the motorcycle uses a new tubular steel Trellis frame. The Italian cruiser continues to ride on 17-inch wheels and the rear comes shod in a 240-section tyre. A single-sided swingarm gives the motorcycle a proper exotic look, while the rear hugger mounted number plate and blinkers give the tail section a clean look.
A comprehensive electronic package on the Diavel 1260 works with a 6-axis Bosch Inertial Measurement Unit (6D IMU). Electronic rider aids include Bosch Cornering ABS EVO, Ducati Traction Control (DTC) EVO, Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC) EVO and Ducati Power Launch (DPL) EVO. Other features on the upcoming model include cruise control, 3.5” TFT colour display, full LED lighting system, self-cancelling turn indicators and backlit handlebar switches.

The Ducati Diavel 1260 will carry a premium over the Ducati Diavel 1200. The Standard variant is likely to arrive near the INR 17 lakh* figure, while the S variant will most likely carry over INR 20 lakh* tag. The Diavel 1260 will come to the Indian market via the CBU route from Thailand.
