Swedish motorcycle brand Husqvarna showcased as many as 10 exiting models at the 2019 EICMA motorcycle show. Of these, Norden 901 Concept swept us off our feet. The new adventure tourer concept is based on the KTM 790 Adventure and it uses the company's new 890 cc parallel twin-cylinder motor.

The new Norden 901 Concept is Husqvarna Motorcycles’ first-ever tourer machine. The concept packs rugged styling, although it does not have the borderline maniac looks like its Austrian sibling, the 790 Adventure. The front fascia on the Norden 901 includes a round, full-LED headlight that is accompanied by auxiliary lights and a windscreen that stretches towards the fairing. Comprehensive crash guard protection and knuckle-guards further enhance the rugged looks of the concept vehicle.
The cockpit of the concept motorcycle featured a unique, twin-screen colour display. The upper screen displays navigation, while the lower screen shows all the ride related information. The KTM 790 Adventure inspired switchgear gets additional buttons - most likely for a cruise control system. We may see similar switchgear on the KTM 890 Adventure.
The fairing merges on to the fuel tank, and a unique panel surrounds the filler cap. Like the KTM 790 Adventure, the Husqvarna Norden 901 Concept boasts a low-slung fuel tank. A step-up, single-piece saddle follows the tank while at the back is a tall-set rear fender. A tall exhaust and KTM style die-cast, open-lattice swingarm are also part of the package. The Norden 901 benefits from Husqvarna's rally experience. The company promises outstanding street and offroad performance.
Mechanical specifications will include an 889.5 cc parallel-twin cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that the company has specifically tuned for adventure usage. The motor, as mentioned above, is based on KTM’s new 890 cc parallel-twin mill that pumps out 121 PS of peak power at 9,250 rpm and a maximum torque of 99 Nm at 7,750 rpm on the 890 Duke R naked roadster. The Swedish adventure tourer may trade some top-end performance for better low- and mid-range grunt.
The Norden 901 Concept is equipped with 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wire-spoke wheels. The concept motorcycle was seen with conventional wire-spoke wheels, and the production-spec model may retain the same setup. Its rivals such as the Triumph Tiger 900 (yet to be revealed), Ducati Multistrada 950 (with optional Enduro package) and the BMW F 850 GS pack tubeless tyre compatible cross-spoke design.
Shock absorption department will comprise WP-sourced inverted front forks and a rear mono-shock – both fully adjustable. Anchoring power comes from twin discs at the front and a single rotor at the back. Disc covers on the motorcycle aim to protect the braking setup against various damaging elements. The production-spec bike will carry a comprehensive electronics package to offer better safety.
The Norden 901 Concept looks retro, yet modern. The styling cues are appealing, and we really hope the production-spec model carries all the visual details from the concept motorcycle. The details about the arrival of the production-spec motorcycle are scarce, although we may see the final product at the 2020 EICMA motorcycle show, if not before.

The Husqvarna Norden 901 is not the only motorcycle that will use the KTM-derived 890 cc engine. The Swedish brand, as reported exclusively by Indian Autos Blog, has a complete 901 series lined up for the future.
