Report - Ferrari snaps ties with Shreyans Group

Automobili Italia Private Limited is no longer the official distributor or importer of Ferrari cars in India, the Italian supercar maker said in a recent statement, reported by Economic Times. Until a new importer is appointed, Ferrari is directly contacting all its Indian customers with regards to ownership experience and aftersales service.

The Ashish Chordia led Shreyans Group, which set up Automobili Italia in 2011 exclusively for Ferrari, has received a lot of flak from customers for its negligent aftersales service, as reported by Economic Times. Owners have either received bad service, or in some cases, are yet to receive their cars even after paying a large percentage of the price as advance.

Ferrari's global lineup starts from the recently launched California T, the 458 Italia which is available as a coupe, convertible or in a Speciale edition, the FF, F12 Berlinetta and finally the LaFerrari. The LaFerrari, given its status as a limited edition Ferrari, was sold out last year and its owners were chosen by Ferrari itself. Hence, the car is ruled out for sale in India.

Ferrari ended 2013 selling 6,922 cars globally (down by 5.4 percent) while net profit went up by 5.4 percent to 246 million euros. The company announced that it will limit sales to under 7,000 units this year as well.
