Expected to go on sale in Brazil in June.

FCA has released the first images of the Fiat Argo for Brazil. The new supermini is the long-overdue successor to the Fiat Punto that arrived in 2005.

The Fiat Argo in the image is the sporty 'HGT' grade.

The Fiat Argo, although designed and developed in Brazil, looks very European. The wide-mouthed grille layout with aggressive headlamps accentuated by LED signature lights gives the front-end look a bold look and is a bit like the Fiat Tipo. A maroon highlight on the lower bumper, contrasting grey ORVMs and rear spoiler, precision-cut large alloy wheels and a chrome-tipped trapezoidal exhaust are to convey that the variant is the sportiest of them all.

Fiat hasn't released interior images of the Fiat Argo, but media from the car's teasers and spy photographers have revealed features like a large colour multifunction display, three-spoke multifunction steering wheel, Uconnect infotainment system with a freestanding display, paddle shifters and cruise control.

Reports say that the Fiat Argo's engine options will include 1.0-litre FireFly, 1.3-litre FireFly and 1.8-litre EtorQ Evo flex-fuel units. The 1.0-litre FireFly three-cylinder engine produces 72 CV (72 hp) and 10.4 kgfm (101.99 Nm) of torque (petrol)/77 CV (77 hp) and 10.9 kgfm (106.89 Nm) of torque (ethanol). It will have a 5-speed manual transmission as standard.

The 1.3-litre FireFly four-cylinder engine develops 101 CV (101 hp) and 13.7 kgfm (134.35 Nm) of torque (petrol)/109 CV (109 hp) and 14.2 kgfm (139.25 Nm) of torque (ethanol). Along with a 5-speed manual transmission, Fiat will offer the 5-speed Dualogic automated manual transmission.

The top-end engine model will sport the 1.8-litre E.Torq Evo engine tuned to deliver 135 CV (135 hp) and 18.8 kgfm (184.37 Nm) of torque (petrol)/139 CV (139 hp) and 19.3 kgfm (189.27 Nm) of torque (ethanol). This engine will send power to the wheels via either a 5-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed automatic transmission.
