As the festive season approaches, car makers are getting ready to flood the market with their new products. The Fiat Punto facelift is one of the many cars that is waiting to be launched in India, in the near future.
Autocar India reports that the refreshed Fiat hatchback would be launched in early August. The Punto facelift brings numerous interior and exterior upgrades. The car had been spotted testing with camouflage before.
The new Punto gets a revamped front fascia with new headlamps, grille, and bumper which houses chrome finished foglight enclosures. The changes to the side would be limited to new alloy wheels while the rear fascia gets new taillight detailing.
The upcoming hatchback gets an entirely new dashboard which has a lot in common with that of the 2014 Fiat Linea, complete with a dual-tone theme. The equipment level is expected to be enhanced in the facelifted version.
No changes are expected under the skin. The Punto's 1.2-litre and 1.4-litre petrol engines generate 68 PS and 90 PS respectively while the popular 1.3-litre MultiJet diesel engine is available in two states of tune - 76 PS and 93 PS. A 5-speed manual gearbox is the lone transmission option throughout the lineup.
The Fiat Punto facelift will have to fight it out with the VW Polo facelift which is launching next month. In addition to the updated Punto, Fiat will also launch the Avventura crossover and the Abarth 500 this year.
