Launch scheduled for August.
Judging by latest spyshots from IAB reader Mohamed Shahid Hussain, initial units of the highly anticipated Ford Figo Aspire have begun arriving at dealerships well ahead of its scheduled launch in August.
Ford will begin accepting bookings this month, and these units could serve as a showroom piece for prospective customers to explore. It is the company's first sub-4m sedan, and is manufactured at their brand new production facility in Sanand, Gujarat. Following the Ecosport, the Figo Aspire as well as the Figo hatchback are the company's next big ticket products to enter the market.
The Ford Figo Aspire comes with an option between two petrol engines and one diesel engine. Likely to be a popular engine is the 1.5-liter TDCi diesel motor, which has been retuned to produce 100 PS through a 5-speed manual gearbox.
The petrol engines include a 88PS 1.2-liter Ti-VCT with a 5-speed manual, and a bigger 1.5-liter Ti-VCT engine from the EcoSport which is paired exclusively to a 6-Speed Powershift dual clutch automatic.
