Unveiled on January 31, 2018, the Ford Freestyle is, as per a recent report, slated to go on sale on April 18. Interested buyers will be able to book a Ford Freestyle via Amazon April 14 onwards, the company has announced.
Only 100 units of the Ford Freestyle will be available exclusively on www.amazon.in for 24-hours starting 2:00 PM on April 14. Customers booking via Amazon will get priority delivery. The bookings amount has been set at INR 10,000.
The Ford Freestyle is based on the Figo hatchback. It gets cosmetic enhancements in the form of revised from and rear bumpers, grille with black mesh, tweaked headlamp and tail lamp clusters, body cladding, roof rails, and 15-inch alloy wheels. At 190 mm, the crossover also rides higher than the hatchback and sits on a wider track. It measures 3,954 mm long, 1,737 mm wide, 1,570 mm tall, and rides on a 2,490 mm wheelbase.
Ford will offer the Freestyle with a new 1.2 L 3-cylinder petrol engine producing 96 PS and 120 Nm. As per claimed figures, it returns 19.0 km/l overall. The diesel variant is powered by the same 1.5 L TDCi unit developing 100 PS and 215 Nm as the Figo, Aspire, and EcoSport. Claimed fuel efficiency stands at 24.4 km/l. Both engines are paired with a 5-speed manual transmission.
There will be four grades to choose from – Ambiente, Trend, Titanium, and Titanium+. ABS with EBD, dual front airbags, reverse parking sensors, and rear fog lamps are standard across the range. The range-topping Titanium+ gets side and curtain airbags, automatic headlamps, rain sensing wipers, Ford MyKey, SYNC3 infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support and Active Rollover Prevention with Hill Launch Assist, Traction control, and ESP.

The Ford Freestyle is likely to have a sub-INR 6 lakh (ex-showroom) starting price. Its rivals include Hyundai i20 Active, Toyota Etios Cross, and the Mahindra KUV100.
