Rinspeed is a Switzerland based automotive company which has a vision for innovative urban mobility.
The Rinspeed miroMAX, according to the company is set to revolutionize the short distance transport by merging the personal and public transportation. The vehicle looks like a scale model of a city bus with its boxy yet compact proportions.
With 3.6 meter of length, equivalent to that of a BMW Mini, the microMAX offers plenty of space for the driver, three passengers and a stroller or shopping cart. The vehicle is 2.2 metre tall and the seats are installed upright, elevating the sense of roominess.
The Rinspeed microMAX includes a coffee maker, a refrigerator for drinks and uninterrupted internet connectivity. The vehicle which is described as a "four wheeled friend" can be specified in many different configurations like the crew van or delivery service van.
The front wheel driven pure electric microMAX is powered by a 43 bhp AC induction motor which provides a torque of 110 Nm. The electricity is supplied by a 110v Lithium Polymer battery.
It can reach a top speed of 95 kmph and can accelerate from 0-50 kmph in 8 seconds. The approximate range on a full charge is about 100 km.
With the metro cities all over the world facing congestion and pollution problems due to private vehicles, the automobiles like the Rinspeed microMAX could be the future.
