What happens when a VW Touareg gets naughty with a Renault Koleos?

The Answer is Hover H7. The Great Wall Motors, which is China’s largest SUV maker, recently revealed the Hover H7 before its official debut at the Beijing Motor show. While Chinese automakers are known to copy design from manufacturers, the Hover H7 is a cocktail of 2 automotive designs at the same time.

From the front the Hover H7 resembles the 2007 VW Touareg and when you come to the rear, it is a clear copy of the new Renault Koleos. The Hover H7 is Great Wall’s biggest SUV yet. It is powered by a 2.0L turbocharged engine with 215 hp and 324 Nm torque paired with a six-speed automatic transmission.

It features:

  • Push-start button
  • Multifunctional steering wheel
  • Navigation and DVD system
  • Automatic air conditioning
  • Electric heated and memory seats
  • 10 airbags
  • Electronic stability control (ESC)
  • Eeverse parking sensors.
  • Adaptive front-lighting system (AFS)
  • Blind spot monitoring system.

While I would love to stand back and take a laugh at a copied design, personally I think it looks pretty decent. It doesn’t look out of proportions or weird.

We should get used to listening the name of Great Wall Motors very frequently because ICML (the makers of the MUV Rhino) are planning to introduce the Great Wall Haval H5 in India very soon.
