Hero Maestro Edge 125 gets its first price hike

The Hero MotoCorp Maestro Edge 125 has received its first hike since its launch in May this year. Hero MotoCorp had announced earlier this month that it plans to increase the prices of its motorcycles and scooters by 1%.

The prices of the Hero Maestro Edge 125 have gone up by INR 500. The base variant is now priced at INR 59,000*, while the range-topping, Fuel Injected variant retails at INR 63,200*.

Launched on 13 May, the new Hero Maestro Edge 125 is India’s first fuel-injection system-equipped 125 cc scooter. The latest model is also available with a carburetted motor shared with the Destini 125.

The 124.6 cc air-cooled engine with carburettor delivers 8.7 BHP of power at 6,750 rpm and 10.2 Nm of torque at 5,000 rpm. The fuel-injected powered variant draws 9.1 BHP at 7,000 rpm and 10.2 Nm of torque at 5,000 rpm from its 124.6 cc air-cooled motor. The fuel-injected Maestro Edge 125 comes one-step closer to BS-VI emission norm compliance.

The new 125 cc scooter is available in six colour options. The fuel-injected variant comes in Panther Black and Pearl Fadeless White paints, while the carburetted variant is available in Matte Vernier Grey, Matte Brown, Matte Red and Matte Blue shades. To give the fuel-injected variant an even more premium look, Hero MotoCorp has given its footboard a unique paint scheme.

A front disc brake is standard in the fuel-injected variant and available as an option in the carburetted variant. The safety department is handled by Integrated Braking System (IBS), which is Hero MotoCorp’s term for a combi-braking system (CBS).

Telescopic front forks and a spring-loaded hydraulic damper at the back handle the shock absorption department. Surprisingly, the Maestro Edge 125 misses an LED headlamp – a feature that is becoming increasingly common.

The Hero Maestro Edge 125 is the first scooter in its segment of the Indian market to receive a fuel-injection system. The addition of a fuel injection system brings the product one step closer to the BS-VI norms.
