The Hero Xtreme 200R rivals the Bajaj Pulsar NS 200 and the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V but is priced closer to the 160cc segment offerings.

The sales numbers aren't overwhelming considering it is the most affordable 200cc offering in the domestic market. The Hero Xtreme 200R was launched in India August last year. The motorcycle later received a marginal price hike of INR 1,990, taking its ex-showroom Delhi price to INR 89,990. The pre-production concept debuted at the Auto Expo 2016, while the production model was revealed in February 2018.

Powering the Hero Xtreme 200R is a 199.6 cc, air-cooled, 2-valve, single-cylinder engine that is tuned to churn out 18.1 bhp of maximum power at 8,000 rpm and 17.1 Nm of peak torque at 6,500 rpm. A five-speed gearbox sends the drive to the wheel.

While the power figures are not on par with the competition, Hero MotoCorp has actually positioned the Xtreme 200R against the 160cc offering regarding pricing. Being the most affordable 200cc naked streetfighter and offers incredible value for money within the segment.

The Hero Xtreme 200R is available in five colour options - Heavy Grey with Orange, Sports Red, Black with Sports Red, Panther Black with Force Silver and Techno Blue. It is also the only motorcycle in its segment to feature ABS as standard fitment, albeit a single-channel unit. Braking power comes from disc brakes at both the ends.

The motorcycle features 37 mm front telescopic forks and an adjustable mono-shock at the back. The bike rides on 17-inch alloys that wrap on 100/80-section front and 130/70-section rear tubeless tyres.
