Honda has taken the wraps off the facelifted BR-V at IIMS 2019. The company is yet to confirm the updated model for the Indian market.

2019 Honda Br V Facelift Front Three Quarters
The 2019 Honda BR-V features more aggressive bumpers, a more prominent radiator grille, new fog lamp garnish, new under spoilers and new 16-inch alloy wheels.

The Honda BR-V has received minor design changes with the mid-cycle update. On the outside, it has redesigned bumpers, a new radiator grille, new under spoilers, new fog lamp garnish and new 16-inch alloy wheels. The front and rear fascias now look more rugged, thanks to the new faux skid plates. The interior design has remained unchanged, which is typical of facelifted Hondas.

The Honda BR-V has received no mechanical changes. Under the hood, the Indonesian-spec version still has the 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol engine that produces 120 PS at 6,600 rpm and 145 Nm of torque at 4,600 rpm. A 6-speed manual transmission or CVT sends drive to the wheels. In India, there's an option for the 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel engine that develops 100 PS at 3,600 rpm and 200 Nm of torque at 1,750 rpm. This engine is going to be upgraded from BS-IV to BS-VI by March 2020.

The Honda BR-V was launched in India in May 2016 and it hasn't been a hit product like the Honda City or the Honda Amaze. Last year, annual sales dropped by 42% Y-o-Y to 7,140 units, translating to a monthly sales figure of an abysmal 595 units. Poor sales may compel Honda to discontinue the BR-V in our market, meaning that just the way the facelifted Mobilio never reached the showrooms here, the facelifted BR-V would remain at bay.
