Report - Honda CBR300R based CB300F naked street fighter is almost ready
Patent sketches of what was believed to be the Honda CB300F have been doing rounds on the internet for quite sometime now. The naked street fighter's name has appeared on the latest California Air Research Board documents, adding gravity to the belief that the CB300F is close to reality.
The CB300F is nothing but the naked version of the CBR300R which will go on sale in the US shortly. Based on the patent sketches it can be observed that the motorcycle's headlamp and tank extension designs are in line with that of the CB500F while the rest of the body parts are shared with its faired stablemate.
The 286 cc single-cylinder liquid cooled engine that is equipped with PGM-FI is also shared with the CBR300R. The CB300F is expected to have identical outputs of 30.4 hp and 27.4 Nm of torque. While the naked version would weigh marginally less than the faired bike, performance stats would be almost identical.
The Honda CB300F is expected to be launched in the US by the end of this year. In India, the burgeoning 200 - 300 cc segment witnesses new entrants in frequent intervals. The CBR300R is expected to succeed the CBR250R next year and the CB300F should ideally follow. The steet fighter would enter into a brawl with the likes of Suzuki Inazuma, Mahindra Mojo and incoming Kawasaki Z250.
