IAB Report - Honda confirms commencement of global deliveries for CBR300R (CBR250R replacement) from July

After several delays, the Honda CBR300R, the motorcycle that would gradually replace the CBR250R globally, will begin sales in July.

The CBR300R premiered at the EICMA 2013, a few months after it was shown in China.

Honda Motorcycles Australia is the first subsidiary that has confirmed the availability of the Honda CBR300R via its Facebook page.

"Honda’s much-anticipated CBR300R is predicted to dominate the entry-level and mid range sports bike market in Australia, when it goes on sale here in July," the note read.

Conceived as a gradual replacement to the CBR250R, the motorcycle has faced unprecedented delays in its market launch.

Honda Australia's website has also been updated with the first set of details. Available with optional ABS brakes, the CBR300R is powered by a liquid cooled 286 cc single cylinder four-stroke engine that develops 30.4 hp and 27 Nm of torque, hitched to a 6-speed transmission. The engine is a modified version of the mill serving on the 250R that uses remapped fuel injection and a larger exhaust canister.

The motorcycle features 17-inch wheels, 37 mm telescopic front forks, monoshock rear suspension, 296mm single hydraulic disc with 2-piston caliper brake at the front and a 220mm single hydraulic disc with single-piston caliper brake at the rear.

With a 13-liter fuel tank, the CBR300R's range is 390 km. The vehicle is available in Black or Red, and the ABS version can be had with the HRC Tri Color Livery.

There's no information on when Honda plans to introduce this motorcycle in India.
