The report further states that the prices of the Hyundai AH2 could start from INR 3.5 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. Bookings of the Hyundai AH2 will reportedly open in early October 2018. Alloy wheels will be available on Sportz (O) and Asta.

The 2018 Hyundai Santro will be underpinned by an updated version of the last generation i10's HA platform, which is more robust than the Eon's PA platform. The new model will be powered by a redone 1.1-litre Epsilon petrol engine from the old i10. The revised motor will be BSVI-compliant and will offer a claimed fuel economy of 20.1 kmpl.

Transmission choices will comprise of a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT. With this, the AH2 becomes the first Hyundai model to offer an AMT. Marketed 'Smart Auto', this transmission will reportedly make it to the next-generation Grand i10 and Elite i20. The 2018 Hyundai Santro will be available with an optional factory-fitted CNG kit as well.

Hyundai refers to the AH2 as the 'Modern Tallboy design'. Various spy images show it with an i10-like B-pillar, a large DLO, a clamshell hood, high-set foglamps, and hoisted on 14-inch steel wheels.
