New diesel variant is available with a 7-speed DCT gearbox.

Hyundai has announced a new variant of the Hyundai Tucson at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show, which packs a 1.7-litre diesel paired to a seven-speed double clutch transmission (7DCT). This brings the total engine options to six: two petrol engines and now four diesel options. Pictured is the Tucson 4WD variant.

The diesel unit is capable of 141 PS at 4,000 rpm and 340 Nm between 1,750 rpm to 2,500 rpm. An in-house developed seven-speed double clutch transmission sends the power to the front wheels only. The new powertrain emits 129 g of CO2 and consumes 4.9 litres of diesel per 100 kilometres (EU cycle combined).

No new features have been introduced. To recap, the exterior has twin-projector LED headlights and LED DRLs with the imposing hexagonal grille, big wheel arches with plastic cladding house 19-inch alloy wheels, while the sleek roof rails and door handles equipped with LED approach lamps complete the side profile. The rear-end has a tailgate-mounted spoiler, wraparound LED taillights and bevel-cut twin chrome exhaust tips.
