Hyundai Xcent successor spied on test yet again

The Hyundai Xcent successor, the three-box version of the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios, has been spied on test yet again, courtesy Dr. Sandeep. It's scheduled for launch in early 2020.

Unlike the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios, the Hyundai Xcent successor will feature a honeycomb pattern Cascading grille.

The yet-to-be-named Hyundai Xcent successor will not replace the Hyundai Xcent right away. The old model will continue being sold alongside as long as possible, although only in a taxi version. The all-new sedan will have a front fascia similar to that of the hatchback it will be based on. A contrasting honeycomb pattern of its Cascading grille will differentiate its front fascia from the base car.

Coming on to the sides, the all-new sedan's greenhouse will also be of the similar sportier shape as that of the hatchback's. It will now also feature much sassier machine-finished alloy wheels. While at the back, its newly designed boot lid should have a much cleaner design; the license plate indentation has been shifted to the bumper. Also, it flaunts new edgier combination lamps and LED tail lights giving the rear-end a fresher look.

On the inside, expect it to sport a similar cabin as seen on the Grand i10 Nios. But additionally, it may sport some new feature which will be exclusive to it. Furthermore, it is expected to have a different colour coding to make it look more elegant.

The 2020 Hyundai Xcent will feature C-shaped LED tail lights.

Under the hood, the Xcent successor will make use of a BS-VI 1.2L Kappa petrol engine or a BS-VI U2 1.2L diesel engine. The petrol engine has been reportedly tuned to produce 81 PS and 114 Nm, while the diesel will churn out 74 PS and 190 Nm. 5-speed manual and 5-speed automated manual will be the transmissions available.
