The 2017 Cruze is based on the D2XX FWD platform that has made the model 113 kg lighter. It also benefits from a 27 percent stiffer body and a low 0.29 drag coefficient.
The Toyota Corolla challenger features a hexagonal air intake flanked by new fog lamps, sleeker swept-back headlights with LED DRLs flowing into a thin grille above the hexagonal intake. The side profile features new wing mirrors and updated C-Pillar design, while the rear sports new horizontal taillamps and a sporty bumper.
The engine powering the sedan will be a new 1.4-liter, four-cylinder turbocharged engine generating 153 bhp paired to a 6-speed manual or automatic gearbox enabling the new Cruze to complete the 0-100 km/h run in under 8 seconds.
