The press days of the 2014 Los Angeles and 2014 Guangzhou Auto shows have concluded and here are the list of cars from the shows that are destined for India.
1. Audi A6 facelift
The updated Audi A6 sports sharpened front and rear fascias while the interior upgrades are minor. The luxury sedan would be one of the many launches lined up next year by Audi India.
2. Audi A7 facelift
Like the A6, the A7 facelift also comes with spruced up exterior and a mildly updated interior. The 2015 A7 too will be launched in India next year.
3. 2015 Audi TT
The compact sportscar has already started testing in India ahead of its launch next year. The new gen TT is available in both Coupe and Roadster guises.
4. 2015 BMW X5M and X6 M
The new BMW X5 M and BMW X6 M performance SUVs have made their first public appearance at the LA Auto Show. BMW India has kick started its M product onslaught which would see the X6 M launched in the country next year.
5. BMW X6
Also on display was the standard BMW X6 which should launch around mid-2015. The new X6 is based on an all-new platform and has enhanced seating capacity to accommodate 5 passengers.
6. 2015 Chevrolet Cruze
While North America gets an updated version of the existing sedan, China became the first market to get the all-new Cruze. With a completely new design language, the new Cruze is expected to make it to India (and other global countries) within 2 years.
7. Chevrolet Sail 3
The third iteration of the Sail sedan has world premiered at the Guangzhou Auto Show with a much needed design overhaul. Given that the China-origin car is struggling to make a living in India, the new gen should be arriving here sooner than later.
8. New Ford Endeavour
The next gen Ford Endeavour made its motorshow debut in Guangzhou. Based on a completely new platform, and with a clean sheet design for the exterior and interior, the Fortuner rival has been officially confirmed for India in 2015.
9. 2015 Honda Jazz
The 2015 Honda Jazz which is slated to go on sale in India next year was in attendance at the Guangzhou Auto Show. The premium hatchback will be available in both petrol and diesel options.
10. Hyundai ix25
The compact Hyundai ix25 crossover has already started testing in India suggesting that it will be launched sometime in the later part of next year.
11. Hyundai Verna Facelift
A modified version of the Chinese Hyundai Verna facelift will launch in India early next year.
12. Jaguar F-Type AWD
Jaguar has expanded its F-Type range by adding AWD and manual transmission. While the manual transmission is unlikely to make it to India, the AWD system has a fair chance of launching here sometime next year.
13. Jaguar XE
The 3 Series-rivaling Jaguar XE will not be here in 2015 but would enter the market a year later. The Tata-owned company is most likely to assemble the car at its Pune facility.
14. Land Rover Discovery Sport
Showcased at both the auto shows, the Discovery Sport will replace the Freelander 2 in India sometime next year. Given that the Freelander 2 is assembled in India, its successor could follow the same strategy.
15. Mercedes Maybach S600
The most luxurious S Class variant offers added rear legroom and an opulent interior. Given that the Maybachs were sold in India, it won't be a surprise if Mercedes decides to launch their spiritual successor here in the future.
16. 2015 Porsche Cayenne
The Cayenne received cosmetic and powertrain tweaks of the 2015 model year. The latest iteration of the popular CBU luxury SUV should be in India in the coming months.
17. (Maruti) Suzuki SX4 S-Cross
The Duster rival has been testing extensively in India ahead of its launch that is scheduled in early 2015. The crossover will offer both petrol and diesel engine options.
18. Toyota Camry facelift
The facelift of the Toyota Camry and the Toyota Camry hybrid were showcased at the Guangzhou Auto Show. Both variants are expected to find India next year.
19. 2015 Volvo XC90
The all-new XC90 would be showcased is India early next year before going on sale at a later stage. The car will be imported as a CBU.
20. VW Jetta facelift
Shown as the 2015 VW Sagitar, the facelifted Jetta is very likely to be launched in India early next year with mild body changes.
