Last month, India-bound MG Motor revealed the HS, its new mid-size SUV. Here are live product images from China, courtesy autohome.com.cn.
The MG HS is the company’s new flagship SUV equipped with a host of premium features for an upmarket appeal. On the outside, the main attraction is the stellar field grille seemingly inspired by the diamond grille of Mercedes-Benz models. The other highlights are the LED headlights, 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, red brake callipers and LED tail lights.
The MG HS has a plush interior with features like a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, wine-red upholstery, brushed metal trim, configurable ambient lighting (in 64 hues), fully digital instrument cluster, floating central display, Bose sound system and more. A compact three-spoke steering wheel with a dedicated Sport Plus drive mode button in red, jet aircraft turbine-style silver air vents and sports seats help balance the interior with a good amount of sportiness.
The MG HS is underpinned by the same platform as the Roewe RX5 (MG RX5). The flagship SUV employs a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine producing 231 hp and 360 Nm of torque. A 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission is expected along with it to send drive to the wheels. MG Motor will likely offer an AWD system optionally in the HS.

MG Motor has confirmed that the MG HS will go on sale in China in September this year. It is yet to reveal if and when the new model will reach overseas markets. In India, MG will enter the market with a Baojun 530-based C-SUV in Q2 2019.
