The Yamaha FZ25 is an ideal platform to upgrade for 150-160 cc riders who want more without going overboard of a performance quarter-litre. The platform originates from the Yamaha Fazer 250 retailed in Brazil. A new report from IwanBanaran says that Yamaha Indonesia may be planning to introduce the bike via the CBU route. This means that India will likely export it to Indonesia.
Codenamed 'B9T', the FZ25 has been rumoured to be heading to Indonesia for over 1.5 years now. However, an official word on the same is still awaited. The quarter-litre, naked, everyday motorcycle is exported to India’s neighbouring markets. An increase in exports will help Yamaha India fight the domestic offset it is facing due to India’s falling economy.
The Yamaha FZ25 gets everyday usable features to keep production costs under check including conventional telescopic fork. The instrumentation console is a small LCD unit. Also, the bike gets a 282 mm disc in the front with a 2-piston calliper and a 220 mm unit in the rear with a single-piston calliper. Adding to the safety net is a dual-channel ABS.
At the heart of the Yamaha FZ25 is a 249 cc air-cooled, SOHC, 2-valve engine. Coupled to a 5-speed gearbox, the engine can produce 20.9 PS of power and 20 Nm of torque. In India, the Yamaha FZ25 is retailed in Matte Black, Dark Matte Blue and Cyan Blue colours. A limited-edition Monster Energy MotoGP version is also on offer.

Yamaha Indonesia is expected to launch the Yamaha XSR155 as well, in November 2019. The Japanese manufacturer will also be launching an updated version of the Yamaha NMax 155 and the Yamaha MT-25.
Yamaha India is gearing up to introduce BS-VI versions of its motorcycles from November 2019 onwards. Its BS-VI scooters will follow in January 2019.
