The Octavia is Skoda’s first model available with the Virtual Cockpit feature in India. YouTube channel Jay Reviews has put out a video showing this fully digital instrument cluster.
The Skoda Octavia’s Virtual Cockpit is a 10.25-inch colour display. Its layout is customisable as per the taste and trip requirements of the driver. The reviewer says that there are four modes to select from. Internationally, the company offers five modes, namely Classic, Advanced, Modern, Basic and Sports.
Skoda hasn’t updated its local website, brochure or digital manual to provide details of the new feature. However, based on the information of the internationally available model, the video shows the Indian-spec Octavia’s Virtual Cockpit in Modern, Basic, Sporty and Classic display variants chronologically.
The Skoda Octavia is available in India in Ambition, Style and L&K equipment lines. Virtual Cockpit is exclusive to the range-topping L&K grade, which is available in 1.8 TSI petrol-AT and 2.0 TDI diesel-AT configurations only. This trim retails at INR 23,15,400* (1.8 TSI petrol-AT)/INR 25,75,500* (2.0 TDI diesel-AT).
Virtual Cockpit is available in the Skoda Kodiaq as well. Like in the Skoda Octavia, only the L&K grade, which was launched on the 5th of this month, includes this fully digital instrument cluster. The Skoda Rapid obviously won’t get this premium feature, but the Skoda Superb we guess should welcome it in the top-of-the-line L&K grade within few months.

The Skoda Karoq (Hyundai Tucson rival) was globally the brand’s first model to flaunt the Virtual Cockpit, and when it arrives in India in 2019, it should include that right from the launch edition.
