This decade, Fiat plans to launch a compact SUV slotted above the Fiat 500X. Italian publication carpassion.it has created a rendering of the Fiat C-SUV.
The rendered Fiat C-SUV’s front fascia has cues borrowed from the European Fiat Tipo and the Latin American Fiat Argo. It looks like a proper SUV, unlike the smaller Fiat 500X. The Fiat C-SUV will share a relationship with the second-gen Jeep Compass similar to the Jeep Renegade and Fiat 500X duo in the B-segment.
Like the second-gen Jeep Compass, the Fiat C-SUV will utilise FCA’s small-wide 4x4 architecture. The Jeep Renegade and Fiat 500X both have a 101.2-inch wheelbase, while the Jeep Compass has a 103.8-inch wheelbase. The latter may apply to the Fiat C-SUV as well. Engine choices may include 1.4-litre MultiAir2 turbocharged petrol, 1.6-litre MultiJet turbocharged diesel and 2.0-litre MultiJet turbocharged diesel in Europe. Transmission choices may include 6-speed manual and 9-speed automatic. A 4x4 system option is a given.

The Fiat C-SUV will bridge the gap between the Fiat 500X and Fiat Freemont. A Fiat Toro-based 7-seat SUV will replace the latter. Launch timelines of both future models are currently unknown. The Fiat C-SUV could arrive in India given that FCA has made huge investments for localising the small-wide 4x4 platform.
