Jaguar XJ50 launched in India, Priced at INR 1.11 crore

Jaguar India has launched the XJ50, a special model that commemorates the fiftieth anniversary of the XJ, at INR 1,11,30,000 (Ex-showroom).

Various enhancements carried by the Jaguar XJ50 include Autobiography-style bumpers, new 19-inch wheels, diamond quilted seats, illuminated treadplates, bright metal pedals and anodised gearshift paddles.

Speaking on the launch of the new model, Rohit Suri, President & Managing Director, Jaguar Land Rover India Ltd (JLRIL), said-

The Jaguar XJ has always been the epitome of Jaguar’s focus on luxury and excellence. With the XJ50, we have raised the bar once again, paying homage to one of the world’s most stylish sporting saloons.

The exterior updates carried by the Jaguar XJ50 include 'Autobiography-style' front and rear bumpers, new 19-inch alloy wheels, chrome radiator grille with chrome surround, and new badges at the rear and near the side vents. Exterior colour options for the new model include - Fuji White, Santorini Black, Loire Blue and Rosello Red.

On the inside, the Jaguar XJ50 offers soft-grain diamond-quilted seat upholstery with the signature leaper logo embossed on the headrests and on the centre armrest. The cabin features anodised steering-mounted gearshift controls and metal-finished pedals. Furthermore, the anniversary edition is differentiated through intaglio branding and XJ50-badged illuminated sill plates.

Launched back in 2009, the current generation Jaguar XJ is in the final stage of its lifecycle. Ian Callum, Jaguar Design Director, has confirmed that the next generation XJ will be larger and will have a roomier cabin. The completely redesigned XJ will reportedly debut a new design language and looks likely to be based on a new aluminium architecture that will be shared with a new Range Rover model that is internally called the ‘Range Rover Road Rover’.
