Classic Legends has stressed the fact that a group of acoustic engineers have worked relentlessly to attain the signature Jawa exhaust note, and the video is proof enough. While it is highly challenging to imitate the 2-stroke sound, the exhaust note on the new model is throaty and bassy.

The Jawa 300 Classic roadster will source power from a 293 cc, single-cylinder, 4-valve motor with fuel injection. The liquid-cooled engine produces a maximum power of 27 bhp and a peak torque of 28 Nm. The engine will be paired to a slick-shifting six-speed gearbox with a final chain drive. The motor has been developed to generate strong mid-range and a flat torque curve.

Jawa Motorcycles, on 2 November, released a teaser video, which gave us a glimpse of the four motorcycles the company is expected to unveil on November 15. It includes a Classic, Scrambler, Bobber and a Café Racer. Last week, the Classic roadster was spied completely uncamouflaged during a promotional shoot, which revealed its retro styling.

The new Jawa motorcycle takes the classic design forward with the typical ‘Jawa’ headlight dome, round fuel tank with dual-tone maroon and chrome detailing, elongated single-piece flat seat, retro side panels and large fenders. Jawa Motorcycles has opted for an old-school design philosophy with conventional halogen bulbs for the headlamp, taillight and the turn signals.

The Jawa 300 Classic roadster will primarily rival the Royal Enfield Classic 350 and the Thunderbird 350. The motorcycle will feature telescopic forks and gas-charged twin coil-spring shock absorber. Braking department will be handled by a single disc at the front and a drum brake at the back. A single-channel ABS unit will be standard fitment. The bike is expected to cost circa INR 1.50 lakh (ex-showroom).
