Kawasaki has no plans for a four-stroke 150 cc motorcycle - Report
Kawasaki Ninja 150 was a two-stroke motorcycle sold in Japan and South East Asia till 2005.
Kawasaki Indonesia has confirmed that the Japanese bike maker has no plans to renew the Kawasaki Ninja 150 brand name. The development is brought to us by Iwanbanaran.
Producing around 29 PS of power and 21 Nm of torque, the Kawasaki Ninja 150’s 148 cc mill was a two-stroke. With emission norms stricter than ever, two-strokes are not coming back. Kawasaki believes that the Kawasaki Ninja 250SL is more of an indirect replacement of the entry level, two-stroke powerhouse.
The Kawasaki Z250SL is powered by a 249 cc single cylinder four-stroke engine coupled to a 6-speed gearbox. The engine is capable of producing 28 PS at 9,700 rpm and 22.6 Nm of peak torque at 8,200 rpm. The DOHC mill gets fuel injection and tips the scales at 151 kg. The fuel tank can store 11-litre of petrol.

The bike gets a 290 mm disc up front and a 220 mm disc in the rear. Front suspension gets a 37 mm telescopic fork and a uni-Trak swingarm in the rear. The Kawasaki Ninja 250SL also has a naked sibling in the form of the Kawasaki Z250SL.
The faired performance 150 cc segment is at present crowded with the Yamaha R15 v3, Suzuki GSX-150R and Honda CBR150R.
