The Ninja 250SL is essentially the faired version of the Z250SL. Hence, both motorcycles are powered by a liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, fuel-injected 249 cc engine which makes 28 PS (27.6 bhp) at 9,700 rpm and 22.6 Nm of torque at 8,200 rpm, paired to a 6-speed transmission.

Both motorcycles get a 11 liter fuel tank. In terms of dimensions, there are mild differences in these bikes thanks to the fairing.
