The KTM 125 Duke and the RC 125 have received a price hike in the Indian market for increased dealer margin, reports Autocar India. The 125 Duke naked roadster is now available at INR 1,32,500* (an increase of INR 2,248), while the fully-faired RC 125 retails at INR 1,48,750* (an increase of INR 1,537).

This is the third price increase for the 125 Duke. The naked roadster, which was launched at INR 1,18 lakh*, received two price hikes earlier – INR 6,835 in April and INR 5,000 in June. For the RC 125 which made its debut at INR 1.47 lakh in June this year, this is the first price increase. While the increase isn’t very high, the revision ahead of the high-demand festive season may affect the sales of the motorcycles.

To give you a recap, the KTM 125 Duke and the RC 125 pack first-in-segment premium features such as inverted front forks and LED blinkers. The RC125 also benefits from a projector-style headlight.

Both motorcycles draw power from a BS-IV compliant 124.71 cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, 4-valve, DOHC engine with fuel injection technology that delivers a healthy 15.2 PS of maximum power at 9,250 rpm and a peak torque of 12 Nm at 8,000 rpm. The full fairing design of the RC 125 helps it achieve higher top speed. We managed to see a top speed of 115 km/h on the RC 125 at Bajaj’s track, while the 125 Duke could clock 109 km/h on the same stretch – with the same rider.

Braking hardware, too, is identical on the 125 Duke and the RC 125. Anchoring tasks are performed by 300 mm front and 230 mm rear discs, while the safety net comprises a single-channel ABS. KTM 125’s rival, the Yamaha MT-15, also uses a single-channel ABS, while the YZF-R15 V3.0, which competes with the RC 125, comes with a dual-channel ABS.

Both motorcycles are built around a steel Trellis frame. However, the RC 125 benefits from a sharper steering head angle, shorter trail and a shorter wheelbase than the 125 Duke. Shock absorption department on the 125 Duke and the RC 125 comprise WP sourced inverted front forks and a 10-step pre-load adjustable rear monoshock.
