The Lada Vesta sedan concept made its global premiere alongside the X-Ray Concept 2 at the 2014 Moscow Motor Show (2014 Moscow International Auto Salon).
The design concept previews the aging Lada Priora's successor which is set to enter production in September 2015. The Russian automaker's CEO Mr. Bo Andersson has previously stated that the car will have a starting price of 400,000 rubles (around INR 6.96 lakhs).
The design is modern by Lada standards and features the now signature 'X' motif on the front bumper and side body panels. Angular LED headlamps and complementing combination lights are other noteworthy features on the outside.
Inside, the dashboard design is modern but again, only compared to existing Lada products. A three spoke multifunction steering wheel, protruding centre console with a color infotainment display and white accents give the cabin an upmarket feel.
The powertrain options are yet to be revealed but expect the Vesta to be powered by AvtoVAZ and Renault developed engines mated to manual and automatic transmissions.
Lada will target select export markets in Europe with the Vesta and the company's CEO has ruled out an Indian entry in the foreseeable future.
The sedan's launch will not sit well with the VW Polo Sedan (Vento) and Hyundai Solaris (Verna).
