The Lexus NX 300h hybrid SUV with an edgy styling has been launched at the Philippines International Motor Show 2014 (CAMPI 2014).
The luxury crossover is powered by a 2.5-litre gasoline engine that runs on the Atkinson cycle which is supplemented by two 650V AC electric motors, one at front and the other at the rear. The total system output stands at 194 PS.
The vehicle is equipped with Lexus' E-Four proactive all-weather driving system in which the front wheels are propelled by the gasoline engine or electric motor or a combination of both, while the rear wheels are powered by the electric motor. The rear wheels would receive power only when the situation demands it, resulting in an enhanced efficiency.
When in regenerative braking mode, the rear-mounted motor acts as a generator thereby increasing the amount of kinetic energy recovered.
