To be based on the same platform as the Gusto 110.
Mahindra is confirmed to be planning media activities for the Mahindra Gusto 125 in the coming weeks, which asserts that the model is set to be launched shortly after, probably at the Auto Expo 2016 in Greater Noida in February.
Mahindra Two Wheelers Limited (MTWL) launched their first completely self-developed scooter, the Mahindra Gusto, in September 2014. The 110 cc powertrain was also developed by the company from the ground up. A few months after its launch, media reports came up suggesting that a 125 cc version of the scooter will be introduced in a year's time, which would be named the Mahindra Gusto 125.
The Mahindra Gusto 125 is expected to feature a new style that is not similar to the Gusto 110, but notable features/equipment like the seat height adjustment, the key fob with remote controls and the various utility/storage provisions, will be shared. The hardware, such as the telescopic fork and the large diameter wheels (12 inch), may also be shared from the current Gusto.

The Activa 3G rival is powered by the 110 cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine that produces 8 PS at 7,500 rpm and 9 Nm at 5,500 rpm. The new Gusto 125 will be powered by an upsized version of the same engine, likely producing around 10 PS and 10 Nm.
