Just last week the inclusion of a taxi variant of Maruti Alto as the Maruti Tour H1 came to light. IAB has gotten hold of images and the brochure detailing the Alto 800 based Tour H1 that targets taxi buyers and fleet operators.
On the outside, the Maruti Tour H1 gets black bumpers, black door handles and ORVMs, and steel rims. It comes in three colours - Superior White, Silky Silver, and Midnight Black. The features list includes just the essential equipment like a manual AC, manual adjustment ORVMs, power steering, front power windows, and remote fuel lid and boot opener. A driver-side airbag is optional.
The Maruti Alto 800 based Tour H1 employs a 796 cc 3-cylinder petrol engine developing 48 PS at 6,000 rpm and 69 Nm at 3,500 rpm. It mates with a 5-speed manual transmission. Maruti claims a mileage of 23.95 km/l. The official leaflet mentions only a petrol variant. A CNG variant, if launched later, will bring down power and torque to 41 PS and 60 Nm. The Tour H1 is equipped with a speed governor that restricts its top speed to 80 km/h.
In the Maruti Tour H1 form, the Alto 800 weighs 720-722 kg. It rides on 145/80 R12 tubeless rubber. The hatchback measures 3,430 mm long, 1,490 mm wide, and 1,475 mm tall sitting on a 2,360 mm long wheelbase.

In total, the taxi-centric Maruti Suzuki Tour range comprises four models - Tour H1 (Maruti Alto), Tour H2 (Maruti Celerio), Tour V (Maruti Eeco), and Tour S (second-gen Maruti Dzire). The Maruti Tour S is only diesel vehicle offered for now. The current Maruti Ertiga is expected to join the Tour range once the new second-gen model arrives this year.
