The Mercedes Benz EQC made its public debut at the 2018 Paris Motor Show. The EQC will be produced at the Bremen plant starting next year. Batteries for the all-electric SUV will be sourced from the wholly-owned Daimler subsidiary Deutsche Accumotive in Kamenz/Saxony. The new model is likely to launch after the advent of the next fiscal.

Speaking at the showcase of the Mercedes Benz EQC at the Paris Motor Show 2018, Dieter Zetsche, Chairman of the Board of Management of Daimler AG and Head of Mercedes-Benz Cars, said -
98.3 percent of customers in the European Union decided against buying an all-electric vehicle in the second quarter of this year. With the EQC we now have an all-new electric Mercedes that is a true alternative to a combustion-engine powered Mercedes. So, our customers get a fair choice when deciding which option best suits their everyday mobility needs.
The Mercedes Benz EQC boasts a futuristic iteration of the company's current design language. At the front-end, the all-electric SUV has a large grille with a black surround that flows into the angular LED headlamps. The rear-end features a twin-LED tail lights set up that is joined together by a thin LED strip. The SUV rides on 19 to 21-inch size, aerodynamically optimised, lightweight alloy wheels.
On the inside, the EQC features an instrument cluster and an infotainment unit that is highly reminiscent of the ones on the latest E-Class. The rest of the dashboard has a futuristic design with ample usage of piano black and brushed aluminium finish.

The Mercedes Benz EQC is powered by two electric motors positioned on each axle. Together, they output a maximum power of 300 kW (402.14 hp) and a peak torque of 765 Nm. Going by the company claims, the all-electric SUV can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 5 seconds. The powertrain draws its juice from an 80 kWh battery that is positioned between the axles. The futuristic SUV has a driving range of up to 500 km.
